Getting comfy with cakes and coffee

Our team got baking, buying and brewing to do our bit to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee morning.

We raised almost £100 at the event on Friday, at our head office in the centre of Maidenhead and were delighted to welcome our new neighbours along to get to know them too.

One thing we can’t resist is the chance to put our feet up with a cake and a cuppa, and of course we’ve got no shortage of recliners and sofas to choose from!

Our team jumped at the chance to show off their culinary creations to raise funds for a great cause.  The office was bursting with bakes including lemon drizzle cake, chocolate cake, Victoria sponge, cupcakes and more.

Marketing director Mark Draper said: “I’d been practicing baking with my daughter in preparation for the coffee morning and never realised before just how simple it is.

“Lemon curd muffins are now a household favourite and we’ll definitely be experimenting further.  They went down a treat in the office, too!”

Last year alone the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee morning raised £29.5 million and this year they expect to smash that amazing target.

The event has been running since 1990 and has grown in size and popularity ever since.

If you’d like to try out Mark’s lemon curd muffins for yourself, here’s the recipe he used.
