La-Z-Boy UK is proud to have furnished Royal Berkshire Hospital with three power recliner chairs for its staff wellbeing area.
The Georgina and Brooklyn chairs have pride of place in the space, which was created as a result of the pandemic to allow staff to have a quiet and restful area.
The hospital in Reading is local to La-Z-Boy UK’s head office, situated in Maidenhead. It employs more than 5,500 staff who deliver care from a network of facilities across sites in Berkshire.
Richard Zzizinga, Senior Cardiac Physiologist said: “I was really chuffed when I walked into the wellbeing centre and saw the La-Z-Boy chairs. It meant that I had a comfortable and inviting place for my break, to sit and relax and re-charge with my colleagues. Thank you to everyone at La-Z-Boy, the chairs are a big hit with us all!”
Royal Berks Charity Director Jo Warrior said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to La-Z-Boy for their generosity. The reclining chairs are a fabulous addition to our current staff wellbeing area that was created during the pandemic to provide a quiet space for staff to take a break away from their busy environments.
“The chairs added some welcomed additional comfort and have been a real hit with the staff. They will move to our new wellbeing facility when work is complete, where they will continue to provide a great resting place for staff.”
Jo went on to explain that the pandemic places major demands on the hospital teams.
Managing director of La-Z-Boy UK, Mark Draper, said the team was delighted to help out their local NHS providers.
“The pandemic has affected everyone in the country, if not the world, and as a global organisation we are only too aware of the impact of coronavirus.
“We wanted to do what we could to make life easier for our amazing local NHS staff and are pleased that the team is enjoying the extra comfort in their break times.”
